You don't need any loadout past Bronze, those are cosmetic only, plus it's very easy to get the loadouts you want, not to mention you can buy a specific one if you so desire. I have hours in the game and already bought 3 mercs out of 9. Kind of p2w but not totally. Game is super fun. I like its rhythm. I like its map flow. I like that one of the characters has an ever-replenishing grenade launcher that I never have to reload.
